Ingredients
- 3/4 cup mayonnaise (light is ok)
- 2 tablespoons minced shallot (in a pinch onion is ok)
- 3 tablespoons capers, drained and minced
- 2 tablespoons minced cornichons or any sour pickles
- 2 tablespoons parsley, finely minced
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar or to taste
- 1 pinch salt, to taste
- 1 - 2 dashes hot pepper sauce (optional)
How To Make extra tangy tartar sauce

Step 1Combine all ingredients except sugar, salt, and hot sauce (if using). Taste and add pepper, sugar, salt, or hot sauce to your desire.

Step 2Let chill for at least an hour to blend flavors before serving.

Step 3NOTE - I've used dried, minced shallots and let the mixture chill overnight to make sure shallots have softened.
