Threw this together one night and it was a BIG hit. Easy and very good!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 pound loose italian sausage
  • 1 medium yellow onion-chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh garlic-minced
  • 3 tablespoons dry italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 2 jars ragu traditional tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup red wine (or beef stock if you prefer to leave it out)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

How To Make easy italian meat sauce

  • Step 1
    Heat oil in big skillet. Cook onions & garlic until onions are soft.
  • Step 2
    Add beef & sausage, mix well as it browns. Cook till all pink is gone.
  • Step 3
    Add Italian seasoning & salt (to taste—depends on the sausage). Blend well.
  • Step 4
    Pour 2 jars of sauce over the meat. Use the ½ cup of wine or beef stock to rinse out the sauce jars and pour over meat --- Stir well.
  • Step 5
    Turn down heat, cover and let simmer for 20 – 30 minutes. Add parmesan cheese in during the last 5 minutes of cooking, stir well. - Serve over your favorite pasta.
