cream of mushroom condensed soup

I started out making homemade cream of chicken soup because of tater tot casserole. It's a favorite in our house. It takes about 10 minutes to make this, and taste much better, not to mention, healthier!! I refuse to use canned cream ofs now. I hadn't seen this recipe on this site, so I thought I'd post it. (Because I'm posting another recipe which calls for it, lol). You can use this recipe as a base to make cream of chicken, etc.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chicken or beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup chopped and sauteed
  • 1/2 teaspoon each of garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, paprika, salt/pepper

How To Make cream of mushroom condensed soup

  • Step 1
    Melt butter and sprinkle in flour a little at a time. Remove from heat. Add broth and milk a little at a time, stirring; add seasonings. After seasonings are mixed well, add mushrooms!
  • Step 2
    Return to heat for a slight boil, stirring constantly until sauce thickens.
