- 1 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup celery, diced
- 1 cup zucchini, diced
- 1 cup mushrooms, diced
- 4 cups tomatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 cup tomato juice
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons basil, fresh chopped
- 1 tablespoon oregano, fresh chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic clove, minced

How To Make chunky marinara sauce

Step 1Dice onion, celery, zucchini and mushrooms into 1/2\\\" chunks. Saute in balsamic vinegar, about 5 minutes.

Step 2Add tomatoes; blend in tomato juice, tomato paste, herbs and garlic.

Step 3Simmer for 20 minutes, or until sauce is reduced by 1/3.

Step 4Serve over pasta.
