My first homemade hot sauce. Not extremely spicy but very tasty with a kick.

  • 1 c
    white distilled vinegar
  • 1-14.5 oz. can(s)
    diced fire roasted tomatoes
  • 1-7.5 oz. can(s)
    san marcos chipotle peppers
  • 1-4 oz can(s)
    diced jalapenos
  • 1-4 oz. can(s)
    diced green chilis
  • 2 Tbsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/4
    chopped fresh onion
  • 2 Tbsp
    cajun seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp
    bay leaf, chopped

How to Make Chipotle Sunset Sauce


  1. Put vinegar, onion, tomatoes, jalapenos, and peppers in a pot.
  2. Boil for 5 minutes
  3. Add seasonings and stir frequently for 4 to 6 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to simmer and cover. Let simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. Pour pot contents into blender and puree it. Enjoy over rice, wings, burgers, you name it.
