This is a simple and quick recipe for a basic tartar sauce. Some prefer dill relish while others like sweet. I use dill but use what you like. Very versatile on most any seafood and also as a sandwich spread!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon dill relish (could use sweet if preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon fine minced green onion - use some of the green tops too
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish - add more if desired
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • Small dash worcestershire sauce ( a few drops)

How To Make tartar sauce (my own recipe)

  • Step 1
Mince onion very fine. Be sure and add some of the green tops...mince it well. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Make sure it's thoroughly blended.
  • Step 2
Store in a bowl or bottle with a tight fitting cap or lid. Refrigerate. Best if it sits in the fridge overnight or at least 6 to 8 hrs. Great with most any kind of seafood!
