A really good caramel sauce for whatever you want....ice cream, pudding...I made it and put it on Peggi's Caramel Apple Coffee Cake and it was fantastic!!

How to Make Caramel Sauce

Step-by-Step

  1. Have everything ready.
    Use a big pot as it boils and foams up.

    Melt the sugar over moderate heat stirring vigorously with a wooden spoon. As soon as the sugar starts to boil stop stirring.You can lift pot and swirl the sauce. BE CAREFUL NOT TO BURN.
    As soon a s it turns an amber color and all sugar crystals are gone add butter and stir til melted.
    Remove from heat...count to 3 an d add cream. Stir til smooth and creamy.
    Be careful...ITS HOT!! let cool for a couple on mins. Pour into glass jar.Cool to room temperature and can be stored in fridge. Heat before serving.
