    packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 c
    corn syrup
  • 3/4 c
    heavy cream
  • 1/4 c
    butter
  • 1/8 tsp
    salt
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract

How to Make Butterscotch Sauce

Step-by-Step

  1. In a heavy saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, cream, butter and salt. Bring to a boil and stir constantly until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Insert a candy thermometer and continue cooking until temperature reaches 238 degrees.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
