Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup corn syrup
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

How To Make butterscotch sauce

  • Step 1
    In a heavy saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, cream, butter and salt. Bring to a boil and stir constantly until sugar is dissolved.
  • Step 2
    Insert a candy thermometer and continue cooking until temperature reaches 238 degrees.
  • Step 3
    Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
