This is my mother and grandmother Brown's recipe.

Ingredients

  • 18 large
    tomatoes
  • 6 medium
    onions
  • 2
    green pepper
  • 4 c
    vinegar (i like apple cider)
  • 3 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cloves
  • 1 tsp
    ground allspice
  • 1 Tbsp
    salt

How to Make Brown Family Chili Sauce for canning

Step-by-Step

  1. Blanche tomatoes, peel and chop course. Chop onions and peppers course, add to large stock pot and boil until thick 31/2 to 4 hours.
  2. Put in canning jars according to directions and use hot water bath method. Use on meats, great on meatloaf, pork, experiment with it. Nice sweet sour flavor.
