Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

How To Make bourbon sauce for bread pudding

  • Step 1
    Melt butter in a small saucepan over med-low heat. Whisk in flour and cook, whisking constantly for about 5 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Stir in cream, sugar and cook, whisking constantly for about 3 minutes or until thickened. Stir in bourbon, vanilla and nutmeg and cook, whisking constantly for about 5 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
  • Step 3
    Serve over bread pudding.
