Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
    whipping cream
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    bourbon
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp
    ground nutmeg

How to Make Bourbon Sauce for Bread Pudding

Step-by-Step

  1. Melt butter in a small saucepan over med-low heat. Whisk in flour and cook, whisking constantly for about 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in cream, sugar and cook, whisking constantly for about 3 minutes or until thickened. Stir in bourbon, vanilla and nutmeg and cook, whisking constantly for about 5 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
  3. Serve over bread pudding.
