I searched for years for the perfect pizza sauce and this simple sauce is by far the best so far. I hope you will try it and agree. Disclaimer: I have always used recipes as a guide and use my instincts and experience to alter or omit ingredients as I cook. Therefore, it has always been a challenge when sharing recipes with others. I doubt I make dishes the same way twice. So, I advise you to use my recipes the same way. Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup onions, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
- 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 ounces tomato puree
- 4 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 small bay leaves
- 2 teaspoons fennel seeds
- 1/3 cup dry white wine

Step 1In a large skillet, melt butter with the oil. Add onion and garlic; saute until soft and transparent. Add tomato puree and stir until smooth. Add remaining ingredients and simmer, 30-60 minutes. Remove bay leaves and spread sauce on your prepared pizza dough. Enjoy!
