This is a blend of spices that is used in Ethiopian Cooking. If you are going to make a few dishes it is worth making your own Berbere. Other wise you may purchase in an international market or specialty store.

- 1/2 teaspoon cumin, ground
- 1 teaspoon fenugreek
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
- 4 tablespoons hot pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon ginger powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3/4 teaspoon cardamom seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves, ground
- 1 teaspoon coriander seed
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
