This sauce is excellent on pork, or chicken. Watch closely when basting meat on the grill as it can flare up due to the butter included in recipe. You can omit the dry mustard and tabasco sauce for a less spicy version on chicken. This sauce is better than any that can be purchased.

  • 1/4 pound butter
  • 1/2 cup catsup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons worstershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon tabasco sauce
  • - water, as needed

How To Make barbecue sauce for meats

  • Step 1
    Melt butter over low heat, add other ingredients and simmer 5-10 minutes. Add water to desired consistency for basting.
  • Step 2
    Baste onto pork, ribs, or chicken on the grill or use in the oven.
