Spicy Shrimp, Mozambique Style
Mozambique is a country in southeastern Africa, which became independent from Portugal in 1975. This dish was influenced by the Portuguese spices brought over by settlers. Portuguese travelers brought the recipe over when they made their way to the US, and it has become quite popular here in New England. This is how I make it at home.

How to Make Spicy Shrimp, Mozambique Style
- Add butter, garlic, and onion to a medium sized pot and cook over medium heat just until onions are translucent, but not browned. About 4-5 minutes. Add can of beer. Then your hot sauce and seasoning. Cook for about 3 minutes.
- Next, add your shrimp and lemon. Cover and cook for additional 5-6 minutes, or until shrimp is pink and cooked through. Enjoy!
