I just hate to see a recipe that tells me to add a package of "taco seasoning". It's so much cheaper and so much tastier to put your own seasoning together. And you don't get all the salt and all the fillers that waste money and may not be as healthy. You of course can alter this to suit your tastes. Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chipotle powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (not salt)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder (not salt)
  • 1 teaspoon oregano (mexican if possible)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (kosher)
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

How To Make spice it!

  • Step 1
    Mix together with a whisk and store in a air tight container out of the sunlight. (if you have any of your spices in seeds such as coriander or cumin, either whir up in a grinder or grind with a mortar and pestle.
  • Step 2
    Multiply by a factor of 10 and you will have plenty on hand!
