This recipe hasn't been tested, but it sound wonderful. I love Rhubarb and thought it would make an excellent sauce for chicken or pork.

1 c
chopped fresh or frozen rhubarb
2/3 c
1 medium
onion, finely chopped
1 tsp
canola oil
1 clove
garlic, minced
1 c
2/3 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c
dark corn syrup
2 Tbsp
cider vinegar
2 Tbsp
worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp
dijon mustard
1 1/2 tsp
hot pepper sauce
1/4 tsp

How to Make Rhubarb Barbeque Sauce


  • 1In a small saucepan, bring rhubarb and water to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered for 5-6 minutes or until rhubarb is tender. Remove from the heat; cool slightly.
  • 2Place the rhubarb in a blender or food processor. Cover; process until smooth; set aside.
  • 3In the same saucepan, saute onion in oil until tender. Add garlic; saute 1 minute longer. Add remaining ingredients.
  • 4Whisk in rhubarb puree until blended. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered for 5 minutes. Use as a basting sauce for grilled meats. Store in the refrigerator.
