mimi's spicy marinara sauce
Normally, I just buy a jar of marinara to use in my Italian dishes. Finally I was ready to give it a try to make fresh. After working with a few recipes and tweaking to my personal preference (aka hot and spicy), I have finally finished it! This sauce is a game-changer and so versatile for many Italian dishes...enjoy!

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 medium onion, minced
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic, heaping
- 1 tablespoon oregano, heaping
- 4 medium fresh tomatoes, chopped
- 1 can rotel tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons basil pesto
- 2 fresh lemon drop peppers, minced
- salt to taste
How To Make mimi's spicy marinara sauce

Step 1Saute the onions and garlic in the olive oil.

Step 2Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer on a medium low heat. Render down to the consistency you would like. Careful salting, more liquid rendered out makes it more salty
