lucy's steak marinade

This is a simple marinade, but very delicious, passed down to me from my Grandmother, Lucy. It is my very favorite marinade for steak. Her original recipe calls for Bourbon; I usually use whiskey. I'm not sure if there is a difference, really.

Ingredients For lucy's steak marinade

  • 1 c
    bourbon or whiskey
  • 1/2 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1/4 c
    soy sauce
  • 4-5 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 2-3 Tbsp
    ginger root, peeled and minced or grated

How To Make lucy's steak marinade

  • 1
    Combine all ingredients in a bowl and whisk together. Place your meat in a ziploc bag or other container and cover with marinade. Leave in the refrigerator for at least two hours, better if overnight.
