homemade old bay seasoning mix
This spice blend is PERFECT to use when your recipe calls for 'Old Bay Seasoning', but you don't have any! I've used this many times and I love it! These are ingredients that you probably already have in your spice cabinet!

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon celery salt
- 1 tablespoon ground bay leaves
- 2 teaspoons fresh ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg-fresh ground if possible
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- UPDATE - i recently did a side by side taste test of this recipe with a container of old bay..
- - and based on that test
- - i would use only a pinch of the nutmeg,
- - cinnamon and cloves,
- - instead of 1/4 tsp. of each
