This recipe passed the picky eaters test!!! I use it for spaghetti and lasagna. This makes a big recipe so you can use what you like and freeze the rest til you need it again.

Ingredients

  • 28 ounces can stewed tomatoes
  • 28 ounces can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 - sweet onions, chopped
  • 2 - yellow bell peppers, chopped
  • 2 - bay leaves, dried
  • 5 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon basil, dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano, dried
  • 1/4 cup parsley, fresh, chopped
  • - salt to taste
  • - pepper to taste

How To Make home made spaghetti sauce

  • Step 1
    Blend both cans of tomatoes in blender. In stock pot, brown beef with onions, peppers & garlic. Pour in tomatoes and reduce heat. Add sugar, basil, bay leaves, parsley & oregano. Simmer about 40 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Remove bay leaves & season w/ salt & pepper to taste before serving.
