This recipe passed the picky eaters test!!! I use it for spaghetti and lasagna. This makes a big recipe so you can use what you like and freeze the rest til you need it again.

Stove Top


  • 28 oz
    can stewed tomatoes
  • 28 oz
    can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 2
    sweet onions, chopped
  • 2
    yellow bell peppers, chopped
  • 2
    bay leaves, dried
  • 5 clove
    garlic, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    white sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    basil, dried
  • 1/2 tsp
    oregano, dried
  • 1/4 c
    parsley, fresh, chopped
  • ·
    salt to taste
  • ·
    pepper to taste

How to Make Home made Spaghetti Sauce


  1. Blend both cans of tomatoes in blender. In stock pot, brown beef with onions, peppers & garlic. Pour in tomatoes and reduce heat. Add sugar, basil, bay leaves, parsley & oregano. Simmer about 40 minutes.
  2. Remove bay leaves & season w/ salt & pepper to taste before serving.
