grilling marinade / sauce

This is excellent for flavoring and tenderizing steaks! It is very easy to make and stores well for a week. So make this... Get out your grill... and throw on some steaks!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/3 cup worchestershire sauce
  • 1 1/4 cups black coffee (extra strong)
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup italian salad dressing
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon each: salt, pepper, garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 - drop liquid smoke

How To Make grilling marinade / sauce

  • Step 1
    Put all ingredients into a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Turn heat down ans simmer for 1/2 an hour. Let cool. Put into 1 quart canning jar (any jar with a lid will do). Refrigerate until needed. Keeps well for about a week.
  • Step 2
    When ready to use, Put the desired amount into a bowl along with a little water to thin it out if needed. Place meat in the bowl. Coat the meat well. Cover bowl and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
  • Step 3
    Put the marinated meat on the grill and baste with this marinade a few times while cooking.
  • Step 4
    *** This is very tasty and helps tenderize the meat. *** I use this on beef steaks and pork steaks.
