Blackberry Merlot Marinade

Found some blackberry syrup in the pantry that I had to use, so I thawed some chicken, mixed up a bunch of ingredients I had in the cabinets and voila: Pure Yumminess!

Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 1/2 c
    distilled vinegar
  • 1 c
    red wine, preferably merlot or a burgundy
  • 1/2 c
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1/2 tsp
    chipotle chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    lemon pepper
  • 1 clove
    garlic
  • 1/2 c
    blackberry syrup
  • 1 Tbsp
    tabasco chipotle pepper sauce or liquid smoke

How To Make

  • 1
    Add all ingredients, whisking until completely combined.
  • 2
    Use as marinade for beef, pork, chicken and shrimp.
  • 3
    Marinate at least 2 hours. Grill or broil to taste.
