spicy strawberry basil jam
Tajin is a Mexican powdered spice that I like really well. It has a mild spice. You can use any spice you want. Adjust the amount to taste.

Makes about 5 pints 10 half pints
Ingredients
- 5 cups crushed strawberries
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 1 package 1 3/4 oz powered fruit pectin
- 7 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup minced fresh basil
- 1/4 cup tajin seasoning
How To Make spicy strawberry basil jam

Step 1In large pot combine the strawberries, and butter. Stir in the fruit pectin and bring to a full rolling boil stirring constantly. Add the sugar and return to a full rolling boil and cook 1 minute. Stir in the basil and Tajin seasoning. Remove from heat and skim off any foam

Step 2Ladle into 4 or 5 pint jars leaving an inch head space. Wipe the rims and secure with lids. Bring water bath to boil and add the jars ensuring that they are completely covered

Step 3Boil for 15 minutes. Remove the jars and let sit until cool and sealed
