Delicious addition to relish tray. Also good as an accompaniment to pork or venison and great with Chicken and Dressing.

Ingredients

3 qt
figs
6 c
sugar
1 c
cider vinegar
1 c
water
2 Tbsp
broken cinnamon sticks
2 Tbsp
whole cloves

Step-By-Step

1Cover figs with water and let stand 5 minutes.

2Mix sugar, vinegar, water, cinnamon, and cloves (tie spices in a cheesecloth bag), and bring to a boil. Add drained figs, return to boil and simmer 10 minutes. Let stand 24 hours.
3Second day: Bring to a boil and simmer 10 minutes. Let stand 24 hours.
4Third day: Bring to a boil and simmer 10 minutes. Remove spice bag. Pack in sterile jars. Process in a boiling water bath canner (212 degrees F.) for 10 minutes.
