How to Make Spiced Figs
- Cover figs with water and let stand 5 minutes.
minutes. - Mix sugar, vinegar, water, cinnamon, and cloves (tie spices in a cheesecloth bag), and bring to a boil. Add drained figs, return to boil and simmer 10 minutes. Let stand 24 hours.
- Second day: Bring to a boil and simmer 10 minutes. Let stand 24 hours.
- Third day: Bring to a boil and simmer 10 minutes. Remove spice bag. Pack in sterile jars. Process in a boiling water bath canner (212 degrees F.) for 10 minutes.
