Ingredients

  • 3 1/4 cups soda
  • 4 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 package or 6 tablespoons powder pectin
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon butter

How To Make root beer jelly/mountain dew jelly or any soda

  • Step 1
    Combine soda, lemon juice, and pectin in large heavy pot. Whisk.
  • Step 2
    Heat to rolling boil, stirring constantly. Boil for 1 minute.
  • Step 3
    Add butter, sugar. Stirring constantly
  • Step 4
    Return to boil and boil for 1 minute.
  • Step 5
    Remove from heat. Remove foam, if needed.
  • Step 6
    Ladel in hot jars leaving 1/4 inch head space.
  • Step 7
    Process in hot water bath for 10 minutes.
