Ingredients

  • 6 cups apples peeled & diced 1/8 inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon butter
  • 1 package fruit pectin(1 3/4 oz)
  • 3 cups sugar white
  • 2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

How To Make carmel apple jam

  • Step 1
    Combine apples,water & butter in a heavy pan cook & stir over low heat until apples are soft.Depends on the type of apples used how long to cook firm apples will take longer. I use from are trees so mine take about 20 mins.After apples are soft stir in pectin and bring to rolling boil.
  • Step 2
    Stirring constantly now add both sugars,cinnnamon & nutmeg.Return to a full boil for 1 min stirring.Remove from heat skim foam from top ladle into hot jelly jars leaving 1/4 head space
  • Step 3
    process in water bath canner 10 mins.
