Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/2 cup cranberries
How To Make candied cranberries

Step 1Cook 1/2 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons water in heavy small saucepan over low heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.

Step 2Transfer to top of double boiler.

Step 3Add cranberries.

Step 4Cover berry mixture and place over simmering water.

Step 5Cook 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 6Remove from over water.

Step 7Let cranberry mixture stand at room temperature overnight.

Step 8Place remaining 1/2 cup sugar on plate.

Step 9Drain cranberries well.

Step 10Add the sugar and turn to coat.

Step 11Let dry at least 30 minutes.

Step 12(Can be prepared 3 days ahead. Cover and refrigerate.)

Step 13Makes about 1/2 cup.
