- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/4 cups milk - more to thin if needed
- Fresh - cracked black pepper - i use 6 - 7 turns of the pepper mill
- Kosher - salt to taste ( i use about 1/2 tsp )
How To Make ~ perfect white gravy ~
-
Step 1In a medium saucepan over medium heat, heat bacon fat or melt butter to bubbling. Once bubbling, whisk in flour and continue cooking and whisking for 1 - 2 minutes, watch not to burn. Whisk in the milk and continue stirring as mixture comes to a boil and thickens. Season to taste with pepper and salt. If preparing ahead, may need to thin out with a bit more milk. It's a great gravy for adding sausage or chipped beef to serve over biscuits or toast.
