Ingredients

  • 5 teaspoons melted bacon grease
  • 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make white country-style gravy

  • Step 1
Put your melted grease in a frying pan. Let it get pretty hot before you add 3 TBS flour. When I say 3 TBS flour, I don't mean heaping, or flat. Just a nice TBS of flour.
  • Step 2
Mix flour and grease until it bubbles - if you want brown gravy, let it get darker.
  • Step 3
    Add milk, slowly, stirring constantly.
  • Step 4
Stir until it boils and until it's thick as you want it. If it's too thick, add more milk, slowly, stirring constantly!
  • Step 5
Your gravy will thicken somewhat after it's out of the pan. Good gravy takes practice, so don't give up after your first try, if it's not exactly like you want it. Keep trying!! :) This recipe will serve 4! For more gravy, increase accordingly!
