- 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- - salt and pepper to taste
How To Make white country-style gravy
-
Step 1Put your melted grease in a frying pan. Let it get pretty hot before you add 3 TBS flour. When I say 3 TBS flour, I don't mean heaping, or flat. Just a nice TBS of flour.
-
Step 2Mix flour and grease until it bubbles - if you want brown gravy, let it get darker.
-
Step 3Add milk, slowly, stirring constantly.
-
Step 4Stir until it boils and until it's thick as you want it. If it's too thick, add more milk, slowly, stirring constantly!
-
Step 5Your gravy will thicken somewhat after it's out of the pan. Good gravy takes practice, so don't give up after your first try, if it's not exactly like you want it. Keep trying!! :) This recipe will serve 4! For more gravy, increase accordingly!
