sausage gravy
My granddaddy taught me to make gravy like this. We love this with biscuits and fried green tomatoes for breakfast.

Ingredients
- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 1/3 cup flour
- 3-4 cups milk
- to taste - salt & pepper
How To Make sausage gravy

Step 1In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage, crumbling as you do.

Step 2Reduce the heat to medium low.

Step 3Sprinkle half the flour over the sausage and stir until it is soaked up by the sausage.

Step 4Add the remaining flour an little at a time, stirring as you do.

Step 5Cook for about a minute, stirring often.

Step 6Pour in the milk stirring constantly.

Step 7Cook the gravy stirring often, until it thickens. About 10 minutes. If it gets too think add a little more milk.

Step 8Add salt and pepper to taste.

Step 9Serve over hot biscuits.
