- 1 package of breakfast sausage , any kind
- 5 tablespoons of crisco shortening (total amount in the skillet
- 5 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 3 - 4 cups milk
- - salt and pepper to taste
How To Make sausage gravy

Step 1break up and brown the sausage in a deep skillet.using a slotted spoon remove the sausage and add 4-5 tablespoons of crisco to the pan, now add equal amount of flour, whisk, whisk, whisk, do not brown, but do wait a few minutes to cook out the flour taste..(make sure your burner is not to high..

Step 2add milk 1 cup at a time, whisk, whisk, whisk, as the gravy thickens you add more milk, until it gets to the thickness you like, add the sausage back in and salt and pepper to taste...

Step 3spoon over biscuits, or toast, or bread, or fried potatoes....for a quick dinner you can use hamburger and spoon over mashed potatoes..
