With Thanksgiving approaching I wanted to share a recipe for gravy that we have used for many years. It was published in a Boulder, CO newspaper.

We always double the recipe.

roasted garlic
1 Tbsp
diced carrot
1/4 Tbsp
honey
2 oz
all purpose flour
1 Tbsp
diced yellow onions
1 Tbsp
diced celery
1/2 c
unsalted butter
1 qt
chicken stock
salt and pepper to taste

How to Make ROASTED GARLIC GRAVY - BLOOM RESTAURANT, COLORADO

Step-by-Step

  • 1IN A SAUCEPAN USE 4 TABLESPOONS BUTTER AND SWEAT ONION, CARROT, AND CELERY UNTIL TRANSLUCENT
  • 2ADD GARLIC AND HONEY, REMAINING BUTTER AND FLOUR
  • 3COOK UNTIL THE FLOUR IS GOLDEN BROWN
  • 4ADD STOCK AND BRING TO A BOIL

  • 6IF CONSISTENCY GETS TOO THICK, ADD WARM WATER OR STOCK TO KEEP DESIRED CONSISTENCY
  • 7USE HAND MIXER AND PULSE GRAVY WHILE SIMMERING TO BLEND VEGETABLES WELL
  • 8ADD SALT AND PEPPER TO TASTE AND SERVE
