Ingredients
- 1 cup onions chopped
- 1/4 cup celery chopped
- 1 tablespoon garlic chopped
- 1 cup dry red wine
- 1 cup beef or chicken stock
- 3 cups crushed tomatoes in puree
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil chopped (or 1 tsp dried)
- - salt and pepper
How To Make quick tomato sauce

Step 1Sauté onions, celery and garlic in oil, medium heat til soft

Step 2Add red wine, cook til reduced to about 1/4 cup

Step 3Add stock, tomatoes, bring to boil, reduce heat and add basil, salt and pepper to taste

Step 4May add meatballs at this point and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove meat balls,skim any fat and bring to a boil, reduce and simmer to thicken more if desired
