this is fantastic with left over roast cut up and added. I have served it with moose roast. It stands alone as a gravy as well.

Ingredients For my bordelaise sauce

  • 1 sm
    onion chopped
  • 1 c
    chopped mushrooms (i add more)
  • 1 tsp
    thyme, dried
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 1/4 c
    flour
  • 1 can
    beef broth
  • 3/4 c
    water

How To Make my bordelaise sauce

  • 1
    saute the small onion and 1 cup chopped mushrooms togeather, 1 tsp. of thyme and 1/2 cup of butter. If you want this can be doubled for a larger amount of gravey.. once you have tasted this you will want double
  • 2
    when mushrooms are cooked add 1/4 cup flour and stir constantly until flour browns about 5 min. Stir in 1 can of beef broth and 3/4 cup of water. cook until thickened... yum.
