This gravy is easy to make (and is good with fried or mashed potatoes as well).

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg
    veggie burgers
  • GRAVY

  • 2 Tbsp
    oil
  • 1 medium
    onion, sliced, rings separated
  • 8 oz
    mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 2 c
    water
  • 2 tsp
    beef base (i use a "no beef" beef base)
  • ·
    salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Easy "Salisbury Steaks" and Gravy

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix together water and beef base and set aside.
  2. Place oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add onion and saute until soft.
  3. Add mushrooms and saute about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in flour and cook 1 minute. Slowly add water/beef mixture, salt and pepper; bring to a boil and thicken.
  5. Add veggies burgers, reduce heat and simmer until burgers are heated through, about 5 minutes.
