Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons chicken fat
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • - salt and pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 4 ounces mushrooms, sliced and drained

How To Make chicken gravy with mushrooms

  • Step 1
    Melt butter in a deep, 1-quart, heat-resistant, non-metallic casserole in microwave oven for 30 seconds.
  • Step 2
    Blend in flour and salt and pepper to taste. Stir until smooth.
  • Step 3
    Heat, uncovered, in microwave 1 to 2 minutes or until lightly browned. Gradually stir in chicken stock.
  • Step 4
    Add mushroom slices; stir to combine.
  • Step 5
    Heat, uncovered, in microwave 4 minutes or until gravy is thickened and smooth.
  • Step 6
    Stir every 60 seconds during cooking.
  • Step 7
    Makes 1 cup.
