Hamburger Gravy recipes are everywhere. This is mine. A savory blend of herbs makes this an easy and delicious dinner. Even my wife likes the leftovers. We like it on mashed potatoes or rice, but I also put it on noodles, bread, or just plain in a bowl.

    lean ground beef
  • 1/3 c
    diced sweet onion
  • 1 Tbsp
    minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper
  • 3/4 tsp
    dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp
    dried sage
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground mustard
  • 1/4 tsp
    dill weed, ground
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    rosemary, dried, ground
  • 1/2 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    Worcestershire sauce
  • 1-2
    beef bouillon cubes, to your taste
  • 1 can
    low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/2 c
    milk

    Put ground beef, onion, garlic, and pepper in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir to break up the meat. Cook until no longer pink.

    Mix in thyme, mustard, dill, rosemary, and sage. Add flour and stir until mixture is completely coated and dry for 3-5 minutes.

    Pour in broth, milk, and add bouillon cube(s). Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

    Lower heat, cover, and simmer until it reaches your desired thickness, 25-30 minutes.
