This sauce goes great on gingerbread or pound cake.

  • 1/4 c
    butter or margarine
  • 2 Tbsp
    grated lemon zest
  • 1 can(s)
    (14oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 Tbsp
    freshly squeezed lemon juice

How to Make Zesty Lemon Sauce


  1. In a heavy saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Stir in lemon zest and cook 2 minutes.
  2. Whisk in sweetened condensed milk until smooth. Gradually add lemon juice, whisking constantly. Cook and package into jars.
