tart cranberry sauce
Today, I decided to make fresh cranberry sauce but could only find frozen cranberries at the store. So I created this recipe with frozen berries, I found the end result to be on the tart side; while my husband loved it, so I am sharing it here with all of you. For a sweeter sauce add 1/4 - 1/2 cup more of the golden yellow sugar.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sweet pressed apple cider (non alcoholic)
- 1/2 cup golden yellow sugar, (for a sweeter sauce add 1/4 -1/2 cup more)
- 2 cups frozen cranberries
How To Make tart cranberry sauce
-
Step 1Add apple cider, gold sugar and cranberries to a pot.
-
Step 2Put on high heat until the ingredients start to boil. (about 5 minutes) Once it starts to boil, you will need to watch the pot and stir often so it doesn't burn.
-
Step 3Lower the heat to medium and continue stirring the pot for 5 - 10 minutes; until the consistency you prefer is achieved. If you still have whole cranberries they can easily be squished against the side of the pot.
-
Step 4Remove from stove, allow to cool, then spoon into your container. Cover and refrigerate until needed.
