This delightful syrup can be use in a wide variety of ways, from pancakes to pork chops to ice cream. I also included the option of adding Dark Spiced Rum. Enjoy! I recommend to garnish with additional cubed fresh pineapple!

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dark molasses
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4-1/2 - fresh pineapple, cubed

How To Make spiced buttered pineapple syrup - pancakes & more

  • Step 1
    Place all the ingredients in a saucepan. Optionally add two tablespoons of dark spiced rum. Cook on high for 1 minute, then lower heat to low.
  • Step 2
    Stirring occasionally, cook for 10 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Pour into a bowl and puree with an immersion blender. Or, use a food processor or blender.
  • Step 4
    Return to saucepan and cook for an additional 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 5
    Serve warm.
