Crockpot recipe. I have included the nutrional values. This is a recipe my sister got from a friend of hers in NY. My sister is a diabetic and loves her applesauce.

- 12 cups cooking apples, cored, pared and thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons sugar substitute
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
How To Make spiced applesauce: diabetic friendly

Step 1Place apples in a four quart crockpot. Combine sugar, sugar substitute,cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix with apples. Stir in lemon juice.

Step 2cook on low for 5 to 7 hours or high for 2.5 to 3.5 hours.

Step 3this will be a chunky sauce..You can put it through a sieve or blend it in a blender if you want it smooth. Serve hot or cold.
