I love making up cranberry recipes. Made this one this Thanksgiving for my family and it really went over quite well. It jells up so nicely that I thought I would put it in a can to cool next year and serve it as though it were store bought and watch for the smiles as they taste it!

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

4 c
fresh cranberries
1 large
or two small apples peeled, cored and diced
2 c
granulated sugar
1/3 c
southern comfort
1 tsp
cinnemon
1/4 tsp
allspice, ground
pinch
ground cloves

How to Make Cranberry Chutney with Southern Comfort and apples

Step-by-Step

  • 1Place first 3 ingredients in sturdy pot and set on medium and stir frequently. The cranberries and apples will break down. Do not add water. Cook until mushy consistency
  • 2Add about half of southern comfort and the spices. Continue cooking on low. The longer you cook it the more it will break down and jell as it cools. I like it pretty Jelled so cook at least another hour on low
  • 3When the spices give off there fragrance add rest of the southern comfort and cook about 10 more minutes.
  • 4This is great with Turkey but also as a dessert with whip cream!
