This is a great topping for ham!

Ingredients

  • 1 can tart red pitted cherries 16 oz.
  • 3/4 cup dry sherry
  • 1/2 cup jelly, red currant
  • 1 package cherry flavored gelatin (jello)
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice

How To Make sherried cherries

  • Step 1
    Drain Cherries, reserving 3/4 cup juice; set cherries aside
  • Step 2
    Combine cherry juice, Dry Sherry, and jelly in small saucepan; bring to a boil.
  • Step 3
    Remove from heat; add gelatin, stirring until dissolved. Stir in Lemon juice until well blended.
  • Step 4
    Pour mixture into a 4cup bowl, and chill until consistency of beaten egg white.
  • Step 5
    Fold in cherries, and chill until firm.
