pumpkin spiced plum butter
What to do with a neighbors generosity of free plums, just pick them and have fun. Well plum butter it is! I used a crockpot overnight method which couldn't be any easier. Delicious for toast, muffins, crackers, or making a savory dish with a plum sauce.

Ingredients
- 4 pounds plums
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup pure cane sugar
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
How To Make pumpkin spiced plum butter
-
Step 1Wash and slice plums. Remove pits
-
Step 2Place in crock pot with sugar and spices. Pour 1/4 cup of purified water over. Mix and set on high. Stir every half hour. After 1 hour turn setting to low and leave alone for 8 hours.
-
Step 3I did this overnight. In the morning I stirred and tasted for flavors. At this time I used a immersion blender and blended till smooth.
-
Step 4Put back in crockpot for another hour uncovered. The consistency was perfect so I didn't want any more liquid by leaving lid on. Look at this color!! I separated in 4 cup size jars. These can be canned with easy 10 min water bath way. Great for gifting. I will be using for other savory recipes besides enjoying on biscuits, muffins and toast.

Step 5I'm going back for more plums! Have more ideas for these beauties
