Ingredients For ginger guava sauce

1 canguava shells in syrup

1/4 cvegetable oil

2large onion chopped

2 clovegarlic chopped

2lemon juice, fresh

1inch long piece fresh ginger root, minced or grated

2bird chilis or 1 scotch bonnet seeded and minced

1/2 tspnutmeg
How To Make ginger guava sauce

1Drain guava shells and reserve 1/2 cup syrup. Place guava shells in blender and blend till smooth. Heat the oil. Add onion and garlic and saute until soft. Add the lemon juice, ginger, pepper, guava puree and syrup. Simmer over low heat for 25 minutes until mixture is thick. Stir in nutmeg and serve with fish or poultry.
