Ingredients
- 1 can guava shells in syrup
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 - large onion chopped
- 2 cloves garlic chopped
- 2 - lemon juice, fresh
- 1 - inch long piece fresh ginger root, minced or grated
- 2 - bird chilis or 1 scotch bonnet seeded and minced
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
How To Make ginger guava sauce

Step 1Drain guava shells and reserve 1/2 cup syrup. Place guava shells in blender and blend till smooth. Heat the oil. Add onion and garlic and saute until soft. Add the lemon juice, ginger, pepper, guava puree and syrup. Simmer over low heat for 25 minutes until mixture is thick. Stir in nutmeg and serve with fish or poultry.
