This HAD to be on the table at Mom's house. And now that she no longer cooks because of a stroke, it is my job to make sure it is!!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh cranberries
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated orange zest
  • 2 - slightly under-ripe pears

How To Make cranberry pear relish

  • Step 1
    Core pears. Peel and cut into 1/3 inch pieces.
  • Step 2
    Combine cranberries, sugar, orange juice, zest and pears in a heavy saucepan over medium heat. Boil until berries pop open, about 10 minutes. Skim foam off surface with a metal spoon and let cool to room temperature. Refrigerate, covered, for up to 2 months. Great with turkey or ham, wonderful on sandwiches!!
