This is from the Leathem Smith Lodge in Sturgeon Bay Wisconsin. This is a nice change from your regular Cranberry sauces.

Ingredients

  • 2 - 10 ounce packages of strawberries thawed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 - 12 ounce package fresh cranberries
  • 2 ounces crystallized ginger cut in slivers
  • 1/2 - large orange, peel, cut in julienne strips
  • 2 - cinnamon sticks

How To Make cranberry conserve

  • Step 1
    Drain liquid from strawberries into 3-quart, saucepan, reserving berries.
  • Step 2
    Add sugar and water, bring to boil stirring to dissolve sugar
  • Step 3
    Add cranberries, ginger, peel, and cinnamon,
  • Step 4
    Return to boil, reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • Step 5
    Stir in reserved strawberries.
  • Step 6
    Remove from heat, cool.
  • Step 7
    Spoon into jars, cover and refrigerate up to a month
  • Step 8
    Serve as accompaniment to hot or cold meats or poultry.
