I've added a few yummy accents to a basic cranberry sauce recipe.

  • 1 pkg
    fresh cranberries 12oz package
  • 1 c
  • 1 c
  • 1 can(s)
    crushed pineapple 14oz
  • 1 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 c
    orange juice
  • 1 Tbsp
    orange zest
  • 1 c
    chopped walnuts (optional)

How to Make Chrissie's Cranberry Sauce


  1. place rinsed cranberries in a large microwave safe bowl, add sugar and water and stir. microwave on HIGH for 5 minutes, stir, then microwave on HIGH for another 5 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool on the counter for 30-60 minutes.
  2. When cooled to room tempurature, add the drained crushed pineapple, vanilla, and orange juice. Place in refrigerator to chill for at least 2 hours.
  3. Just before serving, remove from fridge, stir in the walnuts (if using) and sprinkle orange zest on top. Enjoy!
