Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons shallots, finely chopped
- 1 medium clove garlic, pressed
- 1/2 cup tawny port
- 1/4 cup low-sodium beef broth
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 cup bing cherries, stems removed, pitted and halved
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves, finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon ground himalayan pink salt, or to taste
How To Make cherry port sauce

Step 1In a small skillet over medium heat, add butter and when sizzling, add shallots and garlic; sauté for 1 minute.

Step 2Add port, beef broth, sugar, vinegar, and cherries; stir well. Cook until the liquid has reduced by half, 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 3About 3 minutes before time is up, season the sauce with thyme, salt and pepper.
