Ingredients
- 1/3 cup finely chopped sweet onion
- 1/3 cup sugar, or to taste
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup sherry, optional
- 12 ounces fresh of frozen cranberries
- 1/4 cup cider vinegar or apple juice
- 1 medium tart apple, peeled, cored, diced
- 1 small orange, grated zest of...
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup toasted walnuts, chopped
How To Make apple cranberry sauce

Step 1In a medium saucepan, combine the onion, sugar, water and sherry. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer about 3-5 minutes or until the onion is tender.

Step 2Add the cranberries, cider vinegar or apple juice, apple and orange zest. Cover and cook over medium heat until the cranberries pop, about 10 minutes.

Step 3Remove from the heat and stir in the raisins and walnuts. Cool completely and refrigerate until ready to serve.
